WILD COUNTRY GUIDELINES

Any expedition in Expedition Areas ie. Peak District, Lake District etc. regardless of the level of the Award, practice or qualifying must be notified to the relevant wild country panel(expedition area) using the "Green Forms" which can be downloaded from the Award website. It can be done online and sent direct to the appropriate expedition area. As they have to approve the route and issue you with a reference number they need plenty of notice, at least 6 weeks, and being experts in their area will be able to ensure the proposed route is suitable for the level of the Award and the age of the participants. Along with the green form you need to do route cards and map tracings.

If you do use the expedition area assessors you need to give them 6 weeks notice, and there is a extra cost involved.(£55 b. £75 s. £100 g.) per group.

IF YOU CONTACT THE WILD COUNTRY PANELS DIRECTLY PLEASE SEND A COPY PLUS ROUTES TO THE COUNTY ADVISERS.
